Imagine a predator that covers itself in pieces of its dead prey as camouflage. There are multiple species that do this in real life! Or, what would you think of using a pile of poop as camouflage? This isn’t an uncommon strategy either! There is even a spider that makes a puppet to protect themselves from bigger predators. As you think about what you might want to be for Halloween this year, you may want to consider how other animals dress up to conceal their identities.
